Auxiliary Log
'NAOMI' has storage for two separate logs: 'Main' and 'Auxiliary', each of which can accept ADIF or Cabrillo format logs. The Main Log is the master log, and has the most features. The Auxiliary log is designed to be used for preparing additional QSOs that will be added to the Main log, though there are plenty of commands available to the Auxiliary log too. The big difference between Main and Auxiliary is that the Main Log has its own tab-pages that list all its Grid Locators and Counties. Another difference between Main and Auxiliary is that you can copy all, or selected lines, from the Auxiliary to the Main log, but not the other way around.
Unlike the 'County-Hunting Mapper' program, which is all about Counties, the 'NAOMI' program is all about position. When it loads a log to the database, it tries to find a position for each QSO from a number of different sources, in this order: from ADIF Latitude and Longitude tags, from a Grid Locator tag or Grid Locator contest exchange, from the Callbook (which derives a position from the address zipcode or postcode), or even from a County's centroid, if that is all that is has to go on. A field in each log-line notes where, if any, the position was derived from. Why is the position derived in that order? Because it is possible that a station may be operating away from home, in which case it would have supplied a position or Grid Locator which would, for that QSO, override the callbook entry.
Click the 'Auxiliary Log' menu-item to open a number of menu sub-items: 'Load Log to Auxiliary Log', 'Plot All Calls', 'Plot Confirmed Calls', 'Plot Unconfirmed Calls', 'Plot Calls By Band', 'Plot Calls By Mode', 'Plot All Counties', 'Reset to Show All QSOs', 'Show Distance/Bearing Columns', 'Add GridLoc from LatLon', 'Add State/County from LatLon', 'Show Last Import Errors', 'Delete Auxiliary Log'. Each is described in detail on its own help-page.
The Auxiliary Log' has a right-click Context Menu with the following of commands: Show Callsign on Map, Copy Line to Clipboard, Edit Line, Delete Line, Delete All Selected, Merge Selected with Main, Plot County Outline on Map, Add GridLoc from LatLon, Add State/County from LatLon, Reset to Show All QSOs.
