Map Legend (IB)
This page shows a list of all visible Map Layers, in their order of plotting, where the layer at the back of the image, immediately after the map and GrayLine, is placed first in the list, and the layer that is on top of all the others is placed at the end of the list. The order of plotting can be useful when comparing or masking other information. The order of plotting can be altered, within their Levels, in the Layers Menu.
Where a Map Layer has a range of options, the currently selected option for that layer will be shown beneath the layer entry in the list. Some layers, such as 'Earthquakes', have additional information to share. This will be shown beneath the selected option.
Clicking on a Map Layer name in the list will open a Pop-Out, which will provide additional layer information:
Layer Group - All layers are divided into Groups, for ease of access. They are most commonly used in the Layers Menu.
Layer Title - All layers have a Title, which is usually combined with the Group Name.
Layer Level - Layers are divided into Levels, governed by how quickly they update. They are identified in the Layers Menu by colored backgrounds. The purple layers (1) are always plotted first on the Base Map. The blue layers (2) are plotted next. The red layers (3) are plotted on the top.
Layer Position - Indicates the current position of the Layer in the stack of currently plotted layers. '1' is at the back, next to the map and GrayLine.
Extra Features - Indicates whether extra features are available for this layer. The currently selected value, if there is one, will be shown on the Info Bar.
Styles Available - Indicates which style or styles this layer uses: Raster, Points, Lines, Labels.
Layer Description - An extended description of the Layer.
